Top loin round steak with green bean casserole

I started by marinating the meat 1 day before I was ready to cook it. These steaks happen to be quite big and should feed at least 3 people. As you may notice, I hardly use measurements for ingredients, unless its for cakes, pies, etc.

steak ingredients:
Pepper
Salt
Garlic powder or fresh garlic, peeled and crushed
Onion
Brown sugar
Mushrooms
Olive oil
Italian Salad Dressing
Lemon juice
BBQ sauce, or steak sauce.

All those wet ingredients help to break down the meat.
Preparation: This is the marinating step, and allow at least 12 hours to marinate, I did for 23 hours. I started by using a fork and poking holes in the steak on both sides. I don't normally do this to a steak, or any meat for that matter, but since this is a good sized steak and I really want those juices flowing through it I decided to. Next,I put the steak in a pan and covered the steak on both sides with the dry ingredients, and then add in your cut up onions and mushrooms. I then added the olive oil, making sure to coat the steak. Then I added a liberally dosage of the Italian Salad dressing. As for the lemon juice, I used about 1 cup. I then added about 1 cup of a marinating sauce, or you can use your favorite BBQ sauce. I swirled everything around to get a good mixture. Halfway through the marinating I turned the steak over.

Cooking:
Take the steak out of the fridge and let it sit for about 30 minutes before cooking. Preheat your oven to about 300. Heat a pan up to med-high heat and add in a cpl tbsp of olive oil. You don't need alot, just enough to cover the pan. Once that has heated, go ahead and put the steak on for about 1.5-2 minutes each side, try to get the onions and mushrooms off of it before putting it in. You are trying to sear both sides of it, as it will help lock in the juices. The brown sugar will help give it that nice glazed, seared look.
Next, get a pan out, and dump all the ingredients from the bowl you had it marinating in and put the steak in there. Cook for about 30 minutes, but be sure to check it after at least 15, depending on how you like it. The 30 minutes should get it in a well done state. I normally don't use any sauces on my steak, so if you're like me go ahead and dump the juices out, but be sure to save the onions and mushrooms, they're quite tasty on the steak

Bonus----This is a tasty type of gravy for the steak, or even your potatoes. I didn't use it in this meal, but you can try it if you would like.
Ingredients: Onions and mushrooms
Beef flavored powder, or beef stock (can), beef broth
salt
pepper

Just put the mushrooms and onions in a grilling pan over medium heat, add in the beef broth along with salt and pepper to taste. I try to make mine thick, so you can try adding a little flour, not too much at 1 time. It turns out great!!!

Green Bean Casserole

Ingredients:
Green beans
Cream of mushroom soup
1/2 cup Milk
French Fried Onions
Salt

Stir the soup, milk, black pepper, beans and 2/3 cup onions in a 1 1/2-quart casserole.
Bake at 350°F. for 25 minutes or until the bean mixture is hot and bubbling. Stir the bean mixture. Sprinkle with the remaining onions and add some salt to taste.
Bake for 5 minutes or until the onions are golden brown. Terrific!!!
