Dough: These ingredients should give you enough dough for 2 personal calzones.
Ingredients:
2.5 cups flour
1 cup warm water
1 package yeast
1 tbsp olive oil
1tbsp salt
Start by putting the package of yeast in warm water, and give it a quick stir. Let this sit for about 5 minutes. Once that has set, in a large mixing bowl, put in the flour, olive oil, salt, and the water yeast mixture. Mix this up, and knead it. After about 10 minutes of that (unless you have an electric) cover the bowl with a towel and let it sit for about 1 hour. After the hour, punch the dough, and let it sit for about 15 more minutes. If you're having trouble with it rising, put it in the sun or a warmer area.
Pizza Ingredients:
Per Calzone
1 egg
2 tbsp olive oil
Basil
Oregano
salt
Pepperoni
Sausage
Shredded Cheese
Tomato sauce
Mushrooms
Peppers
Onions
Any other pizza ingredients you would like
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Once the dough is done, break the dough in half, and spread the dough out into a circle on a board, wax paper, whatever you have works.
Add a couple of tbsp on top of the dough, and spread it around with a brush, making sure to get all around the edges. Next sprinkle around about 1 tsp each of the basil, and oregano, and salt.
Now on half of the dough put on the sauce, shredded cheese, any meat you have, and any vegetables followed by more cheese and more sauce. Making sure to only keep these ingredients on half of the dough.
Now, take the half side that doesn't have any ingredients on and fold it over the other half. Once the edges have met, fold them up, trapping all the ingredients inside the dough.
In a bowl, whisk up an egg. Brush the egg on the outside of the dough. This will help give it a crispy, golden brown look, and help keep it from burning. Now you can do the other Calzone.
Once those have finished, place them on a cookie sheet, or pizza pan. You may want to put nonstick spray on the pan first, even if you're using aluminum foil.
Bake at 350 for about 15-20 minutes. Enjoy!
